Handy so that people know what those group prefixes and suffixes mean. You choose which groups appear in the legend, and the order they will appear in, with the plugin settings in the ACP. When the cards are set to hover-mode, they appear when the mouse cursor hovers over a member avatar and these will, since it is a mouse hover action, only appear to desktop users - tablet and phone users never see these cards. Over the multi-year lifetime of an app/plugin in the IPS Marketplace, users never renewed unless they were absolutely required.
